1. While studying in middle school, he became obsessed with rapping in battle. He spent most of his time in school freestyling, testing his skills with anyone good enough.
2. 6lack has chosen to include the number 6 in his nickname because it is his life path number. It also pays homage to the Zone 6 neighborhood of Atlanta where he grew up. Also, his name is pronounced as “Black”.
3. Before his rap career took off, he was involved in a car accident in Florida that caused the driver to fall asleep, causing the car to spin in the road and eventually fly into a ditch. He was able to escape without major injuries.
4. He garnered viral attention on social media after Kylie Jenner uploaded a Snapchat video with his single Prblms playing in the background.
5. After dropping out of college, he got a deal from Flo Rida IMG Strongarm Label and moved to Miami where he struggled a lot financially. Some nights he had to sleep in the studio, other nights he had to sleep outside.
