Nicki Minaj ,  real name  Onika Tanya Maraj , born on December 8, 1982 in Port-of-Spain, is an American rapper, songwriter, and actress. Since releasing her debut album in late 2010, Nicki has become the rapper to follow. In August 2011, she was crowned best female hip-hop artist at the BET Awards ceremony in Los Angeles. Since the end of September 2012, Nicki Minaj has been part of the jury for the twelfth season of  American Idol , alongside Keith Urban, Mariah Carey and Randy Jackson. In 2014, Nicki made her acting debut in  Triple Alliance. Between 2011 and 2017, she earned $122.5 million.
