2023: Hackers can’t disrupt results transmission, INEC boast
Jude Okwuonu, INEC’s administrative secretary in Anambra, has assured Nigerians that the results of the 2023 general elections will be transmitted electronically to the commission’s server and that hackers will not be able to disrupt its systems.
Mr. Okwuonu made the remarks during a one-day ‘Voter Education and Sensitisation Workshop for Media Personnel’ held Thursday at INEC’s Awka headquarters.
He stated that steps had been taken “to enable actual voting to achieve electronic status at an appropriate time.”
“With the passage of the 2022 Electoral Act (as amended) and the new digital or electronic innovations by the body, the body is good to go and no excuses in the conduct of 2023 polls,” Mr. Okwuonu added.
