Alhaji Sa’idu Umar, the former Secretary to the Sokoto State Government, has won the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship primary election.
After the withdrawal of four other candidates and an affirmation vote by 695 out of 755 delegates on Wednesday in Sokoto, Umar was declared the winner.
He has been declared the winner and flag-bearer of the Sokoto PDP governorship race in 2023.
2. Alhaji Ahmed Aliyu – All Progressive Congress (APC)
Alhaji Ahmed Aliyu
Alhaji Ahmed Aliyu won the APC governorship primary election in Sokoto State, he was the former Deputy Governor of Sokoto State and the immediate past Secretary of the Police Trust Fund.
However, he successfully polled 1,080 votes out of 1,182 votes cast at the primary election, contested by six aspirants.
He is now the APC candidate For the Sokoto State governorship election coming up in 2023.
