The Nigerian general election is just two years away, for those who are wondering how to register for PVC before the 2023 election, this article is for you.
On Monday 28 of June, the Independent National Electoral Commission announced the commencement of the Continuous voter registration exercise nationwide (CVR).
However, the beauty is that it is an opportunity for those that have not registered to take part in the coming historic election.
INEC announced the guidelines to help those whose PVC might have been misplaced, damaged, stolen or wanting to change their biodata understand the registration process.
Who can register for the Continous Voters Card?
- Nigerian citizens that are above 18 and have not registered before
- Registered voters that have issues with accreditation
- Nigerian who want to transfer their voting point to another
- Registered voters who wish to correct info on their card, like name, date of birth etc.
How to register for the PVC
Interested voters can either register online or physically.
Online:
Like said earlier, interested voters should go to the INEC online portal and fill in the required details, then print out the slip. More so, those who want to do the correction of data can also do that online.
With the online portal, you can also apply for a replacement, loss or damage of permanent voters cards.
In-person:
After you have created an online registration via the portal, proceed to the INEC office in a nearby local government, or any designated centre, submit the slip. They will run a biometric capture and give you a temporary voters card(TVC).
