11th season of the Gulder Ultimate Search kicks off this Sunday

Organizers of the Gulder Ultimate Search (GUS) have announced that the 11th season of the show will commence on Sunday, The 26th of  September, 2021.

The organizers broke the news in a terse post via the show’s official Instagram handle on Friday.

This year’s edition of the survival reality show titled ‘The Age of Craftsmanship’ was earlier billed to start on October 16 and run till December 19.

But in the latest surprise update, the organizers said the show will begin on September 26, while urging fans to anticipate its return.

“It’s a start of a new journey. A new age is about to emerge! We are ready for it! Are you? 26.9.2021,” it read.

Kunle Remi, Nigerian actor, and anchor for this year’s edition of the show, also announced the development via his Instagram stories.

Recall The survival reality TV show Gulder Ultimate Search was recently announced to return to the screen, after seven years off the screen.

The Gulder Ultimate Search started in 2004 and enjoyed 11 seasons on the air. The show went on to become the most-watched reality TV series in Nigeria before it ended in 2016.

From the first edition, which premiered in 2004, contestants were camped in different parts of the country to struggle against themselves and the wild, i.e. nature, and their search for a hidden treasure that brings to the last person standing instant fame and fortune.

The prize rose from N3 million from the first edition to N10 million and a brand new SUV in the last edition. Since it went off the air, fans have been calling for its return.”
