Regina del Sagrado Corazón Orozco Mora, better known in the world of musical entertainment simply as Regina Orozco , was born on February 18, 1964 in Mexico City. While she was doing her basic studies, she also dedicated herself to preparing herself in the field of opera, so her parents provided her with private teachers and later enrolled her in private schools, she also studied at schools such as the National Conservatory of Music and the Escuela of Music Julliard located in New York and studied acting at the Centro Universitario de Teatro (CUIT) at UNAM, where he had among his teachers the prestigious Julieta Egurrola.

In this way , Regina Orozco  would begin her artistic career in Ciudad Satélite, where a priest who was in charge of staging comedies made her known to the public with the first artistic name of “La Megabizcocho” , which she retains to this day. It would be around those times when she would begin to be aware of her vocation towards social inclusion, that is, she had the intention that the art she made would reach a very diverse audience, among whom were adults, young people, women, children, the elderly. , homosexuals, heterosexuals, believers, non-believers, to name just a few.

In 1991 Regina Orozco  gave life to the character known as Miss Dolores in the film titled Only with your partner , which was directed by Alfonso Cuarón. The following year, in 1992, she would be part of the cast of Lost Objects as in charge of interpreting the character of Alicia Villalobos. While in 1993 she would give life to the role of Salomé in Dama de la noche; It would be during this same year when we could enjoy her performance in La vida conjugal.

In 1995 Regina Orozco  was in charge of interpreting the character of Chayo in the film known as Mujeres insumisas, which was directed by Alberto Isaac. A little later, she played the role of Denise in Antonio Urrutia’s film called De tripas, corazón. Also during this year we would see her appear in Cosi fan tutte: or the school of lovers with the character of Fiordiligi, directed by Jesusa Rodríguez; in Half Lies as Regina Orozco, acting under the direction of Ximena Cuevas; in El amor de tu vida SA she was in charge of interpreting the character of Gloria, whose performance was under the orders of the director Leticia Venzor; and we cannot ignore her participation in the film known by the name of Deep Crimson, by the prestigious and famous director Arturo Ripstein, where she was given the task of interpreting the character named Coral Fabre.

The following year, in 1997,  Regina Orozco played Lily in the film Perdita Durango, a film directed by Álex de la Iglesia. In 1998 she took part in La venganza de la Desdemona, acting under the orders of Celia Varona. It would be during this same year when she would appear in the soap opera known as La casa del naranjo, where she gave life to the character of Narcisa Olmedo.

One of the moments that gave her the most success on Mexican television was when  Regina Orozco  served as critic in the fifth version of the singing contest and reality show known as La Academia.  Curiously, at first the Fifth Generation was going to have only three judges. but from the twelfth concert the opera singer and actress Regina Orozco was included because after she was invited the people were very happy with her participation because she brought a lot of fun to the program with her peculiar way of criticizing the students. In this season she shared credits with  Arturo López Gavito .

Regina Orozco  was in the following years managing to stand out in various projects such as; Crónicas chilangas, Paradas continua, Beyond the wall, Gregoria the cockroach, It’s not you, it’s me, Get the Gringo, The worst lady in the world, Santos against Tetona Mendoza, Third call, What did you say to God?, Augusto’s silence, His name was Dolores, My husband has a family, among others. In music she continued very strong and public the album known by the name of Regina a go go: More beautiful than not one, Regina Catrina, La amorosa, Canciones pa’lavar trastes, Canciones p’agarrar… el alma , among others. 

In 2018 he was a judge in the contest known as Cantadísimo. And in 2019 he gave life to the character of Mother Rosita in the Netflix series La casa de las flores. While in 2019 she published the album Pedazos del corazón and then she played Lola in Los pecados de Bárbara where she shared credits with Diana Bovio ,  Irán Castillo ,  Valentina Buzzurro , among others. 

 Regina Orozco achieved great success in her professional career when the third season of  “Se renta cuartos” premiered, a Mexican television series initially broadcast on Comedy Central, Paramount+ and later on channel 5 of Televisa. In the series “Rooms for rent” a family with a lot of money due to fate goes bankrupt so they have to move to an old house in a humble neighborhood in Mexico City, where they must rent some rooms to survive. but above all, deal with the different personalities that will end up staying in that place.

“Rooms are rented” became a great success for Comedy Central, which is why Televisa later acquired the rights to be able to broadcast it in its programming.
