Who is Lee Eun Sang?

Lee Eun Sang is one of the eleven boys that make up the Korean band X1 (엑스 원) who perform K-pop music and who have become a musical success in their native country and various parts of the world. Each of the members of the band were chosen through a reality show where the best became the members of X1 making their official debut on August 27, 2019 with the release of the album Emergency: Quantum  Leap but the group did not last long . Since in January 2020 his retirement from music was announced and he would pursue a solo career.

Following X1’s disbandment, Lee Han Gyul and Nam Do Hyon held their ‘Happy Day’ fan meeting. The sold-out event was held on February 2 at the Kyunghee University Grand Peace Hall in Seoul, and was the first fan event the two MBK Entertainment idols had prepared since X1’s disbandment in early from January .

During the event, fans were excited to find out that the two were not the only X1 members they were representing at the event. Former members Lee Eun Sang, Kim Yo Han, Cho Seung Youn, and Son Dong Pyo were also in attendance, sitting in the crowd and even taking a moment to wave to attendees from their seats.

Beginnings of Lee Eun Sang in the X1 Band

X1 is a Korean K-pop group made up of eleven young boys under the management of Swing Entertainment , a subsidiary of Stone Music Entertainment . The group was formed through the Mnet reality show Produce X 101. The band began their career in music on August 27, 2019 with the release of their first EP called Emergency: QUANTUM LEAP.
The boy band is called X1 worldwide since it is something easy to remember, however in their native Korea they call themselves 엑스원 ; stylized as Ekseuwon or egseuwon .Korean boy band X1 was formed bit by bit thanks to Mnet’s P RODUCE X 101 produced talent show , which aired from May 3, 2019 to July 19, 2019. Initially, there were 101 contestants who put their heart to become one of the 20 finalists so that later, with the votes of the public, only the band X1 would finish forming with the 10 boys most voted for by the audience of the reality show. There was one more member, known as the X-rank member and the eleventh member, who was selected for having the best reviews and the best results throughout the competition and who in a certain way was considered as the leader of X1.. It was on July 19, 2019 when it was announced who would be the 11 boys who would be part of this new band, in a live program that registered high audience levels.

Lee Eun Sang’s musical career in the band X1

On July 22, it was the perfect occasion for the boys to hold their first live concert called VLIVE where they announced that the group would be holding their debut showcase on August 27 at the Gocheok SkyDome. They put up about 22 thousand tickets for sale for people to see, surprisingly for X1 each and every one of the tickets was sold which showed that they were undoubtedly starting their career on the right foot since it was not very common for a new group to be so successful.

In August 2019 they decided to put the EP called Emergency: QUANTUM LEAP on sale and released as the first single the song entitled ” FLASH “, composed by Score, Megatone and Onestar (Monotree) .
Surprisingly, this little album managed to sneak in as the best-seller in that opening week, achieving sales of more than 268,000 copies, quite a musical event at a time when many albums are not usually sold anymore, as if that were not enough, they became the group who sold the most albums in the whole year with a debut album.On the other hand, the song “Flash” made its debut on the most prestigious charts in Korea and in various parts of the world , giving very good results for a first-time group and that not only ended up surprising all the members of the group but also all the producers who were behind them. The hits not only stayed in sales and radio hits but also won their first music trophy on SBS MTV The Show on September 1 but more importantly, they had the support of all their fans and followers.

In January 2020, after having great success as a group, the consequences of the fraud in said program reached the career of each of them and announced the end of X1 less than a year after its creation. After Ahn JoonYoung was arrested for tampering with votes on the Mnet series “Produce 101” and he admitted that all seasons of the show were rigged, X1’s disbandment was confirmed. According to the statement shared by the company CJ ENM, agencies such as Woollim Entertainment, DSP Media, Starship Entertainment, and Brandnew Music, among others, could not reach an agreement and declared the disintegration of X1 . Former members Lee Han Gyul and NamDo Hyon were the first to say goodbye to the fandom.
