Who is Jay Wheeler?

José Ángel López Martínez , better known as Jay Wheeler, is a famous singer and composer exponent of the reggaeton genre and Latin trap who has achieved great successes such as Amor de Febrero, La Curiosidad, Vivir, Sin tí, Another Night, I dreamed of you, among others. Jay Wheeler was born on April 25, 1994 in Salinas, Puerto Rico and is currently considered one of the greatest exponents of urban music in his country.

José Ángel López Martínez, better known in the world of musical entertainment by his stage name Jay Wheeler or Jay Rueditas , was born on April 25, 1994 in Salinas, Puerto Rico. We know that he had a difficult childhood due to his family’s financial problems and because he suffered bullying when he was in his school years. He has also confessed that his brother has an interest in music, only unlike him, she preferred to follow the path of his parents and stay as a performer of church music. 

From a very young age, the now famous  Jay Wheeler  discovered his passion for music, largely because his parents were like church singers. It was then that he started taking piano lessons, and when he got a computer he began to venture into the world of beats and produce videos that would be covers for social networks and platforms like Instagram or YouTube.

In 2020, what is considered to be his second studio album by  Jay Wheeler  under the title Platónicos , also with the collaboration of DJ Nelson, would come to light and would be such a success that it would reach position number 26 on the known list. as Billboard’s Top Latin Albums. We cannot fail to emphasize that during this same year, Jay Wheeler was twice nominated for the recognitions known as Premios Tu Música Urbano, within the category called “Top Urbano Puerto Rico and New Generation Album”, this distinction was consequence of the good reception of his album named Platónico.

On the date of August 14, 2020, he was an interpreter of the song titled “La curiosidad” , in which he had the collaboration of the artist known by the stage name of Myke Towers in the presentation of the preshow for the Premios Juventud event.

Something that stands out a lot about Jay Wheeler is his concept of happiness, which does not lie in material things, but in being satisfied with yourself by dedicating yourself to what you like to do most in life. In this regard, the artist recounts that he had a time when he did very badly in terms of economics, in which he had to live in houses with services paid for by the girlfriends he had at that time, work on farms from sunrise to sunset to barely make any money, and all of this occurred while carving out a place for himself on the road to fame. However, he also tells us that he was always true to himself in terms of his taste in music, and generated an even stronger bond than he already had with art.
