Emanuel Herrera Batista better known as El Alfa El Jefe or simply El Alfa is a famous Dominican singer-songwriter exponent of the urban genre, reggaeton and dembow who has achieved thanks to tiktok great viral hits such as Singapore, Trap Pea, La Mama de la Mama and 4K. El Alfa was born on December 18, 1990 in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic and his career took off thanks to the millions of videos on tiktok where they have used his songs for dances and choreographies.

Beginnings in the life of El Alfa

Emanuel Herrera Batista, better known in the world of musical entertainment under the stage name of El Alfa or El Jefe; He was born on December 18, 1990 in the city of Bajos de Haina, Santo Domingo, in the Dominican Republic.

El Alfa ‘s childhood was spent in a humble family environment, with parents who taught him solid moral principles and values ​​under which he has lived all his life. Since he was little, he was always interested in barbershop and styling, paying close attention and always taking care of his physical appearance.

At the age of 17  El Alfa made the decision to follow his own path in life and become independent from his parents. It is considered that the beginnings of his artistic career occurred with the songs known by the names of “Car bomb”, “Muévete Jevi” and “Tarzan” , which he presented to the public when he was around 20 years old. .

After the success that they had at the beginning of his artistic career with the songs “Muévete Jevi”, “Coche bomba” and “Tarzán” , El Alfa was identified with the musical genre known as “current urban”, in a particular way with reggaeton and trap. A short time later, thanks to his creative and curious personality, he decided to venture into the medium of the genre known as “dembow rhythm” , where he turned out to have quite a successful performance. The truth is that we have to mention that El Alfa adapts very well to any musical genre that the public requests.

Around the year 2015 El Alfa  went on tour in the United States, where he could be seen in more than 30 presentations, in which he performed his most successful songs, which are known by the titles of: “As I move” , “Jalao”, “Tarzán”, “Mío y ya”, and “Calimete”. Singles that were identified as the pieces of music that have made him the famous singer he is today.

Another characteristic that is identified with El Alfa is that its staging is highly structured, which results in the audience being left wanting to see it again. Regarding his fame, El Alfa  has commented: “We started a good year 2015, thanks to God, and to my followers. We are happy with this great tour. Dominicans and Latinos in general are supporting me. With my good music, my dedication on stage and above all respect for my audience, that is what has given me the success of this tour…”

In 2016, El Alfa , in collaboration with the artist Nicky Jam, released to the public the song known as “Nadie como tú” , which was a single for promotional purposes, which was derived from the production of his new album. We are aware that during this year he traveled to Europe and on that continent he presented the songs “Abuso” and “To, los dedos quemao” , which turned out to bring him great success in his presentations.

The following year, in 2017, he released the album known under the title of Discipline, which brought to public light the singles known with the titles of: “El tiempo pasó”, “Millionario al tiro”, “La queda dancing”, “Facetime” and finally “Abofetiao”.

While during the year 2018, we know that El Alfa stood out for the presentation of his next studio album known as El hombre, which contained 14 songs, of which it has been considered that the most outstanding are: “My mommy” , “Having sex”, “Pa, Jamaica”, “Take it off” and “Uzi” .

Undoubtedly, a large part of El Alfa’s success occurred from 2019 when the singer began to gain a lot of strength thanks to the tiktok application, as many “tiktokers” began to use his songs to do lip-synchronization dances but above all , dances and choreographies being the famous influencer ” Kunno ” who made the “4k walk” famous using the song k4 by El Alfa . This would only be the beginning of a trend where the songs of El Alfa began to go viral on tiktok and instagram since millions of people used their songs to become famous and incidentally make the singer more well-known and achieving millions of visits on his music videos; some of the most viral topics ofThe Alpha have been; Singapore, Trap Pea, La Mama de la Mama and 4K , to name a few. 

A short time later, in 2019 El Alfa  would present the album Dembo$$, of which we know that it has the songs of “Dembow y regaaetón”, “Jalapeño”, “Pomposo” and “Tecnobow”, among other songs. We cannot ignore the fact that it was also in this same year when he collaborated with several songs, among which “Rasta Barbie” stands out, a remix in which he worked alongside the artist known by the stage name of Gigolo y La Exce, in addition to also being able to hear the voices of  Arcángel , Myke Towers , and  Farruko . Another outstanding song was the one known by the name of “Qué calor” , in which we were able to enjoy his voice along with the artists Major Lazer, J.Balvin and Diplo.

Towards the end of 2019, El Alfa  released the song entitled “Coronao Now” in collaboration with the artist Lil Pump, which stood out for exceeding 90 million views on the YouTube platform. just two months after it was released and a few months later after the theme of the original song  El Alfa  released the remix version of the song “Coronao Now” , also with Lil Pump, but now adding the voices of the artists Myke Towers , Vin Diesel, and  Sech , which gave him a very important boost on his way to success in his musical career.

During his artistic career, El Alfa has shared musical themes with prominent artists , including the stage names of  Sech ,  Farruko , Tempo, Jowel and Randy, N-Fasis, and El Musicólogo. According to the opinion of connoisseurs and famous critics in the world of musical entertainment, it has been said that El Alfa is the Juan Luis Guerra of our time , just as Juan Luis Guerra stood out with the subgenres of meregue and bachata, El Alfa does with the dembow.

In an interview with the singer in March 2020, he expressed the following about the musical subgenre he interprets: “The dembow does not even respect tones because it is something that is about inspiration, creation. This is what represents us Dominicans, sometimes world artists tell me: “what is this that you do that I can’t stay calm?” There are people who want to do a dembow and it doesn’t come out.” Later he added that he recognizes that part of dembow’s success is its rhythms and lyrics that are characterized by being enthusiastic and catchy. In mid-2021 he released the single “La Mama de la Mama” which once again became a viral hit on tiktok.

Regarding the personal and love life of El Alfa, he is married to Alba Rosa , a woman he met in his early adolescence, when she was 12 years old and he was 14. Since 2009 they began dating, and to this day they are the parents of two sons named Fendi and Emanuel . El Alfa and Alba Rosa make up one of the most iconic couples in the world of musical entertainment.

Regarding what fatherhood represents in his life, El Alfa commented in an interview:  “Now that I am a father, I take better care of myself because my children need me. I used to not think about things, if there were risky things to do I did them without thinking, not now, I just think that if something happens to me what will become of my children.” With which he makes it clear that he is an attentive, careful and quite responsible father.
