Claudio Ignacio Montaño Ceura better known as DrefQuila is a famous Chilean singer, songwriter and freestyler who throughout his successful career has achieved great musical hits such as Una Estrella, Tukum, Tu sabor, Me atrapa, Surprise, Me entendi, among others. DrefQuila was born on November 13, 1997 in Coquimbo, Chile and is currently considered one of the best exponents of rap in all of Latin America.

Beginnings in the life of DrefQuila

Claudio Ignacio Montaño Ceura, better known in the world of musical entertainment under the stage name of DrefQuila , came into the world on November 13, 1997 in Coquimbo, Chile. His parents are Claudio Montaño and Hadeleyne Ceura; he is also to our knowledge that he has a younger brother.

He studied at the Bernardo O’Higgins School in Coquimbo, and his interest in music and the artistic world was born when, at the age of 12, he heard the song “Cotidiano” by the musical group known as Movimiento Original. Regarding this topic, DrefQuila has mentioned in different interviews that the song: “It was my first love. Thanks to that song I got into music.”

In the same way , DrefQuila studied Medical Technology for a while, however, he decided to abandon these studies to dedicate his entire life to music, making known back in 2012 the singles titled : “Forget”, ” The plan”, “I want Gold”, “Qué será”, “Tamo calmo”, “Ella busca”, “Untitled”, “Demasiao”, and “A fuego”, turning out that this last song became his song more successful, and his music in general began to be a musical phenomenon on streaming platforms in Chile.

In 2013 it is considered that he formally began his career as a freestyler, registering for different competitions and making himself more and more known to the public, which generated a large number of followers in a relatively short time, without a doubt the beginning of the greatest successes. that would arrive for the  DrefQuila race.

A short time later, in 2014 DrefQuila  released what was his first album known under the name of Valium, which enjoyed an excellent reception from both the public and critics. This undoubtedly motivated him to continue venturing into the world of musical entertainment and that is how the following year, in 2015, he published the hits Cold and Amethyst.

A short time later, in 2017, DrefQuila  released his first EP, which he called Dolce Beijo, in which we can enjoy his music with Portuguese influences. Furthermore, it is our knowledge that the album was recorded at RedBull Studio Sao Paulo, in Brazil. In addition, in that same year he released the album known by the name of Giddy up to the public.

The following year, in 2018, DrefQuila  presented the studio album known as Trend up. And it was in this same year when the announcement was made that DrefQuila would perform at Cosquin Rock Chile, being the only representative of urban genre music in Chile at that event. In the same way we have to mention that he released to the public the studio album known under the title of Aqua. While already for the month of December he made a duet with the Argentine artist  Duki , who is considered the greatest exponent of urban music in Argentina, as well as DrefQuilait is from Chile. Together they performed the single titled “Sin Culpa”, a song that quickly became a hit that undoubtedly gave another great boost to the musical careers of both, having millions of views on the YouTube and Spotify platforms.

A short time later, in 2019, he was invited to participate in the event called La Cumbre and in Lollapalooza Chile. While in the month of May DrefQuila  released the single known as “Tu droga”, and in June of that same year he published the single called “Nos vamos”.

We cannot ignore the fact that it was also in the year 2019 when in August  DrefQuila made the song “Me entiens” publicly known, which was included as the first song on the album KUN, launched on the market already in the year 2020 on the date of April 4, an album in which he had the collaboration of the artists: Tommy Boysen, Polimá WestCoast , MelyMel and Marlon Breezy.

In April 2021 DrefQuila  had the great opportunity to sing a freestyle with the world famous producer Bizarrap, BZRP who by then had become very famous on YouTube for the collaborations he had made with other exponents of Latin rap and trap. Bizarrap released the song  DREFQUILA || BZRP Music Sessions #7 and this is how the singer joined a long list of great singers who had been fortunate enough to sing with BZRP  such as  Snow Tha Product ,  L-Gante ,  Aczino ,  Polimá WestCoast , Bhavi , Pequeño77 , Frijo ,Nicki Nicole , Alemán , Trueno , John C , Dani , Louta , Lucho SSJ , Seven Kayne  among others. Just one day after its premiere, the BZRP song together with  DrefQuila achieved almost 3 million views and in just one month it had exceeded 50 million. 

Later, he brought to light the songs “Tukum” (in the month of September), “Una estrella” (in the month of October), and “Ring” (in the month of November). It was the same way in the past year 2020 when DrefQuila gave something to talk about in the press, since he made the announcement of his next single entitled “Benz”, and in the advertising image we could see DrefQuila with his manager on board of a luxurious Mercedes Benz car with the legend “Closing business above the Benz”.

A short time later, DrefQuila claimed to be the owner of the car and told the press that : “I always wanted to buy a Benz, from a very young age and when I was able to buy it I made a song for it… Benz represents business, we are almost always doing paperwork upstairs of the car, working, but it also represents all the effort during all these years making music to be able to buy my first car.”

The year 2020 was very important in the artistic career of DrefQuila , since it led him to fulfill two of his great dreams by dedicating himself to doing what he likes the most: music. This is how we can verify his feelings of triumph with the words that accompany the video clip of the single “Benz”, in which he expresses the following: “I always said that I was not going to appear in a video in a car that is not mine, I did not want to rent one, it had to be mine and a Benz, and it was.”

We cannot forget that it was also last year when DrefQuila made his most romantic side known to his followers with the song called “Una Estrella”, about which he commented: “It is a special song to dedicate, to listen to as a couple. , put it in a whatsapp status or an Instagram caption.”

DrefQuila , in mid-2021, released the themes of: “Funcionar” “Good morning” with Bhavi  and “Your flavor”, songs that were within the singer’s EP entitled “Even though they are all watching”.
