Héctor Eduardo Reglero Montaner, better known in the world of musical entertainment only as Ricardo Montaner , was born on September 8, 1957 in Avellaneda, Buenos Aires, Argentina, although the first 7 years of his life were spent in Valentín Alsina, Lanús, south of Buenos Aires.

Later, his family would go to live in Maracaibo, Venezuela, where he would study at the Claret College, because his father, named Eduardo Reglero, worked as a telecommunications technician, and ended up accepting the offer to move to Venezuela. It would be around this time of his life when  Ricardo Montaner would discover his vocation for music, and would put this taste into practice by joining the choir of the church his family attended, to later be a member of rock and pop bands like Scala. and The Roadrunners.

As a teenager , Ricardo Montaner composed his first song, which he gave the title “Spring Nights”, for which he was inspired by his first girlfriend named Ana Vaz. At the age of 16, he joined the band Scala, working as the drummer, and soon the opportunity to be as a singer would come to him, when the main voice of the group got sick on a certain occasion and he had to take his place on stage, when he was 17. years, it was thanks to the band Scala that he met Roberto Luti, a singer-songwriter and producer who was aware of Héctor’s great talent.

The following year his album Los hijos del sol came out, which would be the last album that Ricardo Montaner He would record with the Sonorodven company, since the following year, in 1993, he would dissolve his contract with said company, who, resentful, would veto him from making any public presentation, so he could no longer appear on stage for a long time. However, for this moment in his life, Venezuela was proud of him, and they celebrated him as the first interpreter at the national level, while they had recognized him with the Meridiano de Oro award; then it would be the Disney company that would open the doors for him to interpret the theme of “An ideal world” from the classic film Aladdin together with the Spanish singer Michelle. This would be the first step for his subsequent appearance in various musical projects.

Already towards the end of 1993 Ricardo Montaner  signed a contract with Sonográfica, a Venezuelan record company, and also with the television station called RCTV, it would be then when he would appear again in concerts that were given at the La Campiña theater and at the Teresa Carreño Cultural Complex. It is our knowledge that the first single to be published was the song known as “Little Venice”, which would pay homage to Simón Díaz and Simón Bolívar, two very important characters in the history of Venezuela. While in the international arena he decided to sign a contract with the EMI record company.
