Beginnings in the life of Christian Martinoli

Christian Octavio Martinoli Curi, better known as Christian Martinoli , was born on October 15, 1975 in Mar del Plata, Buenos Aires, Argentina. It is known that his mother has Mexican nationality, while his father is Argentine by birth.

Despite being born in Argentina, his family moved to Mexico when he was very young, and that is how Christian Martinoli grew up in the city of Toluca. From these childhood years he discovered his passion for soccer, being a fan of Deportivo Toluca.

Christian Martinoli  studied at the University of Journalism and Art in Radio and Television in the period of time that would go from September 1994 to December 1997 in Mexico City. He began his career as a chronicler on the radio program known as Cancha Caliente, where at that time the matches in which the Red Devils of Toluca played were broadcast. This is how Christian Martinoli began to narrate the matches of Club Deportivo Toluca and also of Atlético Mexiquense.

In 1998  Christian Martinoli started working for the television station TV Azteca as a sports reporter; this is how he had the opportunity to narrate stellar first division soccer matches. During this season in his life, he would have as a co-worker the narrator named Emilio Fernando Alonso, with whom he would develop a special bond, considering him as his teacher. Unfortunately, Emilio would soon suffer a stroke, and that is how, due to this situation, he has narrated since then together with Luis García .

In 2002 he was the narrator for the Korea-Japan Soccer World Cup. In the year 2006 we could listen to him narrating the matches of the Soccer World Cup in Germany. Since 2009 we know that Christian Martinoli has collaborated with the Japanese video game company known as Konami, in the production of the game called Pro Evolution Soccer; in which he along with Luis García he has narrated the games of the Spanish version for buyers from Latin America.

And in 2010 he stood out for his narration at the Soccer World Cup in South Africa. We also know that since this year Christian Martinoli  has been a member of the newspaper Récord, focused on sports, in which he works as a columnist and analyzes issues that have to do with football, whether nationally or internationally.

In 2011 he would be involved in a controversy that began when in a match between the soccer teams Monarcas Morelia and Cruz Azul he used the term “aboriginal” to refer to a player who committed an assault during the match. However, we have to point out that  Christian Martinoli did not really have bad intentions, since he did not know the real meaning of the word.

However, the conflict reached the point that he received a summons from CONAPRED in which a dialogue was held with the aim of having more control over his journalism. Fortunately, the problem was left as a misunderstanding and did not escalate, however, since then  Christian Martinoli has made use of this experience in later stories as a joke, giving his mistake a humorous meaning.

Leaving aside that bitter pill, Christian Martinoli  was the winner, on October 8, 2012, of the National Chamber of the Radio and Television Industry (CIRT) Award, which he received thanks to his thanks to his experience and performance as a journalist.

These words caused a sea of ​​diverse reactions in the Mexican press and soccer fans in the United States. And perhaps without realizing it at the time, he added the following words: “ Not you, not you who are in green! They do, you don’t. Let it be clear to them all their lives!: you don’t do anything for the shirt, you don’t promote the team, you don’t get us into the Cup, you don’t let us live! It’s the United States, not you, not you and your pride! Not you and your infamy! Not you and your firecrackers!” Christian Martinoli said at the time  .

As expected, the diverse reactions increased, and the following day Christian Martinoli  was interviewed by radio stations from Spain, Peru, Australia, Wales, and Argentina; to which he explained that everything he had said was the product of his surprised reaction at not having previously had an experience like that. The consequence of all this was congratulations for having increased the rating of the television station for which he worked.

Subsequently , Christian Martinoli  would appear in the TOP 10 in a ranking of popular Latino reporters during the celebration of the 2014 Brazil Soccer World Cup, which was carried out by a Brazilian sports newspaper. Among his competitors were: Javier Fernández Franco, Gabriel Regueira, Alejandro Fantino, Pablo Giralt, Luiz Carlos Jr, Mariano Closs, Alberto Jesús López, Galvao Bueno, and Noe Vázquez.

Also during this year , Christian Martinoli  stood out as an actor with a leading role in the mini-series Caipirinha Sunrise, produced by TV Azteca for the celebration of the 2014 Soccer World Cup.
