Alicia Martha Villarreal Esparza was born in San Nicolás de los Garza, Nuevo León on August 31, 1974, known simply as Alicia Villarreal, she is a Mexican singer, songwriter and actress of the grupero genre, who in 1992 was the vocalist and image of Grupo Limit.

Alicia Villarreal is the daughter of Víctor Villarreal and Martha Esparza and is the eldest of five siblings. When she was sixteen years old, Alicia discovered that she wanted to be a professional singer, but since her father did not like the idea of ​​her, she chose to finish her high school studies. Soon after, her father ended up supporting her and she began singing with local groups at birthday parties, school graduations, anniversaries and small family gatherings.

Alicia Villarreal’s beginnings in music were thanks to a newspaper requesting a showgirl to record an album, so she decided to audition. Demonstrating her musical talent, she was left on lead vocals, rather than backing vocals; then her producer, Juan Barrón, introduced her to Grupo Taurus, which was a pleasant coincidence, because the members of that group turned out to be her neighbors, the curious thing is that she was unaware that they were professional musicians. With a contract with the PolyGram label, in 1993 the newly formed group with the voice of Alicia Villarreal began recording her first songs, which were intended to be included in her first record production.
