Who is Barbara Mori?

Bárbara Mori Ochoa , better known only as  Bárbara Mori, is a famous Uruguayan film and television actress who became famous in 2004 when she played Rubí in the telenovela of the same name and later dedicating her life to making films, moving away from television and TV soaps. Actress Bárbara Mori was born on February 2, 1978 in Uruguay and is currently the mother of her son, actor and singer  Sergio Mayer Mori  , that she had with her ex-husband  Sergio Mayer Mori .

Barbara Mori’s parents are  Yuyi Mori, she is of Japanese and Uruguayan origin, while her mother, Rosario Ochoa, is Mexican. She grew up with her brothers Kintaro Mori and Kenya Mori, who is also an actress.

When she was three years old, her parents divorced and this meant that Barbara Mori  was traveling a lot between Mexico and Uruguay, although she finally opted for Mexico permanently when she was 12 years old. Her constant movement between her countries taught her from the beginning that she had to take her life into her own hands. 

Barbara Mori’s life would change when a fashion designer named Marcos Toledo noticed her one day while she was working as a waitress at a local restaurant. This led her to the world of modeling and three years later, Ella Barbara Mori finally moved out of her house and went to live with her cousins, which would be the beginning of her artistic career.

After a few more TV series, Barbara Mori  got her first role in a romantic comedy type movie called “Inspiration” shot and released in 2001 to high praise as well as being a box office hit.

Success kept ringing the bell and in 2004 Bárbara Mori  signed an agreement with the largest media network in Mexico to star as the main character, Rubi , in her eponymous hit soap opera. This role earned her a second TVyNovelas Award , since she had achieved the first with her participation in the novel “Mirada de Mujer”. In the telenovela “Rubí” the actress Bárbara Mori played Rubí and shared credits with other great stars such as  Sebastián Rulli  and  Eduardo Santamarina .

When I returned to the set I had information and advice about the disease.  It is tremendous to say yes, I had cancer. God is sending me a test like this for a reason and I have it I had to face. I took it hard and got through it.”he added. He pointed out that he did not need chemotherapy or a year in treatment as sometimes happens with other people, in addition to the fact that he always had the support of his family, “because in good times and bad, harmony and unity prevail.”
