Who is Legacy 7?

Legado 7 is a musical group of the genre of corridos and the Mexican regional made up of Alexander Guerra (vocals), Ramón Ruiz, Gustavo Arellano, José Ramos, and Rigo Soto who are the musicians. The group Legado 7 debuted in 2014 and since then they have achieved great musical successes such as “De periodico un gallito, El chinito, El Chili Willy, EL Locochón, El doble M, El humaderón”, among many more.

Beginnings in the history of Legacy 7

Legado 7 is the name of a musical group that was born in 2014, its members respond to the names of: Alexander Guerra (who occupies the position of composer and vocalist), Ramón Ruiz, Gustavo Arellano, José Ramos, and Rigo Soto.

What we know about the beginnings of the artistic career of this musical group is that the original idea came from Alexander Guerra and Ramón Ruiz; who thought of forming a band; In the same year, 2014, they dedicated themselves to looking for three musicians to complete the band, this is how they met the rest of the members, along with those who undertook the task of writing their first songs with which Legacy 7 would start their successful musical career.

It is considered that the beginning of the artistic career of the musical group Legado 7 occurred in 2016, when they released their first studio album known under the name 100% corridos verdes, which was available in April. of that year. We must not forget that this musical production was sponsored by the record company called Rancho Humilde, and included 15 songs, among which the most successful were: “Olor a kush”, “Rikachan”, “Verde, verde” and ” The Afro”.

This album was followed by a live version with the same name of 100% corridos verdes. While the following year, in the month of April 2017, Legado 7 made the presentation of their second album which was known by the title of A kid without a future, which was composed of 16 musical themes, among which stood out the names of: “El panu or el lobo”, “El compa Ángel”, “El chinito” and “El malandro”.

Later, in 2018, the group Legado 7 released the album called Pura lumbre, in which corridos featured to a greater extent, in addition to including the participation of artists such as El de la guitarra, Omar Ruiz, Fuerza Regida and Sons of Garcia. It was in this year that their music was recognized as the genre of “Los corridos verdes”, a term that they themselves explained in different interviews with the following words: ” They are like a new fashion for corridos, a new trend in regional music that is making noise in the cities on this side of the border… They are corridos that talk about marijuana, that is why they are called “corridos verdes”.

To this we must add that we must take into account that one of the main objectives of the Legacy 7 group is to reflect everyday life situations in which they grew up , since they all come from neighborhoods where the sale and purchase of drugs is common. known as marijuana or cannabis.

We cannot leave aside what José Ramos, the guitarrist of the group Legado 7 , said in this regard, when the media questioned him about what he thought alcohol and drugs were similar to: “ I believe that alcohol and marijuana have differences. With alcohol, and with all due respect to the people who drink, I think some people get aggressive, they start to say bad words, to disrespect people, quite the opposite happens with a “marijuana”, who when smoking it they become very peaceful…Under the influence of cannabis, feeling, acting, behaving is different; So, I think that marijuana is very peaceful compared to what alcohol is.”. Of course, this news caused a stir among the entertainment press on the Mexican side, although we must not forget that in California, as of January 1, 2018, the cultivation of marijuana for medicinal or recreational purposes is legal.

The following year, in 2019, the successful boys from Legado 7  made the presentation of the album called El 7 de la suerte , in which we were able to enjoy 13 musical songs, the most successful being: “El chavalito”, “El chili Willy ”, “El michoacano” and “El donkey”. Of course, we cannot forget the single “Doble m”, as well as the music video that was directed by Ernesto Villa, with more than seven million views on the YouTube platform.

A little later, Legacy 7 undertook a musical tour in May 2019, for which they were in the famous Plaza Garibaldi, which is located in the city of Chicago, Illinois, United States, in this concert they surprised the public with the presentation of his entire repertoire so far, as well as unpublished songs.

By this time, the fame they had achieved had reached such a degree that  Legado 7 were nominated at the Billboard Latin Music Awards in the category of “Mexican regional album of the year.”

This is how we got to last year 2020, when the musical group Legado 7 presented the successful single known as “ojos de maniaco”, in addition to famous compositions such as “nuevo régime” (in collaboration with El 2020) and “Soy lo I am” (in collaboration with Jesús Ortíz  (Fuerza Regida) and  Natanael Cano ).

Legado 7 in 2021 released their new album known under the title of LA Lumbre , which consisted of 11 unpublished songs, with the collaboration of renowned artists such as JOP, Erick Aragón (Grupo Codiciado) and Jay Dee (Herencia of Patterns). It was on the date of April 20, 2021 when they made the public aware of this album on the occasion of the commemoration of $20″, that is, the month number 4 of the year, that is, April, and on the 20th, a date important for the so-called “cannabic culture”.

The first single from this album was known under the name “Reyes Magos”, for whose interpretation they did a joint work with JOP and Herencia de Patrones. This album is the number 7 that the musical group Legado 7 has released, standing out for the singles of: “Al Salir”, “Soy lo que soy”, “Inmigrante”, “Me subo al avión”, “Yo”, “No They know me”, “It seems like yesterday”, “666”, to name just a few. We must point out that the group Legado 7 is also located in the musical genre known as “lumbre corridos” or “fire corridos”, referring to the consumption of marijuana as part of daily life.

Legacy 7 in mid-2021 announced that they would end labor relations with the label “Rancho Humilde” . Alexander Guerra made a video on his Instagram where he decided to clarify the rumors about his departure from “Rancho Humilde” because for some time there had been talk of an alleged break between them.

Alexander Guerra clarified that they had not been on bad terms but assured that at times they did not feel very valued but that they would be working as usual and putting a lot of effort into their musical career. Many of the fans and followers of Legado 7 assured that it was a good decision since “Rancho Humilde” did not seem to support anyone other than  Natanael Cano and  Justin Morales , but even so, Alexander Guerra and his group left very grateful for all the years in those who were working together.
