Beginnings in Klan life

Lucas Matías Santo, better known in show business under the stage name of Klan , came into the world on the date of June 9, 1994 in the capital city of Buenos Aires, Argentina. Before dedicating himself to rap, he began as graffiti painting on the walls that he found in the neighborhood where he was born, known as Los Altos, where he met friends that linked him to the world of the hip hop musical genre. . However, this was a difficult time in his life, since his mother did not agree that it was graffiti and gave him the choice between continuing to live in her house or dedicating himself to graffiti, since Lucas Matías chose the second option.

This is how he spent 3 years living on the street, and between 2010 and 2011 he formally began his artistic career as a participant in different underground competitions, among which the Halabalusa was one of the most important, where he had the opportunity to grow in the musical environment by having confrontations with recognized figures with a long history such as Dtoke, Niki, Tortu, Markitos, Antwan, and Balper.

In this way it is like in 2012, having already formally adopted the stage name of  Klan , Lucas Matías participated again in Halabalusa, where he faced other freestylers including the names of Danyelus, Dozer, Antwan, and Sony, not we can forget that it was in this same year when he was for the first time as a contestant in El Quinto Escalón , where he was very active during 2013, facing rappers like MKS, Midel, Libra, among others.

Later, in 2014, he was a participant in the Freestyle Massacre, a competition in which he reached the semifinals with the artist Papo. In the same way, it is our knowledge that he participated again in El Quinto Escalón, where he faced MKS , Wos , Compás and Rouse to mention just a few. It was also in this same year when Klan decided to be a contestant in the Red Bull Battle of the Roosters, sending the video of him and being accepted. We must highlight in this competition that he was the winner of Nizzer in the round of 16, he defeated Silar in the quarterfinals, but in the semifinals he was defeated by Papo, one of the public’s favorites.

The following year, in 2015, Klan came out on top at the Freestyle Coliseum when he defeated artist Row. While in the competition known by the name of Rosario Freestyle he was the winner of Ganjahman. Shortly after he participated again in Halabalusa, also being the winner, and we cannot forget that he was the Ego Fest champion by defeating the artist Shair.

A short time later, in 2016, Klan  improved their position in El Quinto Escalón, defeating artists such as Martha, MKS ; although he was defeated by Dam and Duki. He later returned to this same competition to defeat MKS and finish in second place as runner-up of El Quinto Escalón 2016.

After his remarkable performance in El Quinto Escalón, Klan participated in the BDM Gold Argentina, where he was the winner of Shair in the quarterfinals, and in the semifinals he defeated Cacha, finally being classified to compete in the BDM Deluxe 2016, standing out for his victory over Wolf. In these competitions, his phrases stood out: “You, that was not enough, the adolescent rabbit runs fast, the adolescent rabbit runs fast, the turtle wins for real and for patient.”, words with which we have to say that he defeated Cacha .

Klan participated again in the Ego Fest, where, however, he was defeated by Dtoke in a battle that has been described as one of the most aggressive in the history of the competition, we cannot forget that he participated in the special date of El Quinto Escalón, known as 2vs1, along with his friend Replik. Regarding this competition, it is our knowledge that they defeated the duos of Felpa and Klave, Dante and Name One, and Espi and Liber in the round of 16. While in the quarterfinals they were victorious over Legar and Seba, while in the semifinals they defeated Afrito and Wolf, so that for the final they had to face Thunder and Underndann.

It is important to note that this particular competition has been recognized as one of the most important in the history of freestyle, since it had an impressive rating in which it managed to gather more than 31 million views on the YouTube platform, the result being the champions were Klan and Replik. In the 2vs2 he participated together with the artist Wolf with whom he defeated Alejo and MKS where they were champions with somewhat aggressive metrics.

A short time later , Klan  participated in El Quinto Escalón for Acru, being the winner of Klipper in the sixteenth round, while in the round of 16 he defeated Tesis, and in the quarterfinals against MKS , while in the semifinal he defeated Genas and in the final he was victorious about Wolf.

In this way, it is like in the middle of 2016 Klan sent his video to participate in Red Bull and was accepted to be a contestant in the 2016 Argentine National competition, where he beat Busci in the round of 16 and Katra in the quarterfinals, and for the semifinals he faced Papo, showing a good level, although he failed to defeat him because he did not use the themes.

However, this event did not discourage Klan , who once again participated in the national final of El Quinto Escalón, where they advanced to the round of 16 after beating Nacho and Midel, while in the quarterfinals they battled Underdann, thus managing to advance to the semifinals, where he faced  Ecko , Wos and Dtoke, being defeated by the latter two.

By the end of 2016, it is our knowledge that Klan was a participant in the Big Bang Double AA, where he defeated Meb and Lewan, however, he could not do anything against the Spanish artist Chuty. He also participated in the BDM Gangs together with the Chilean artist  Teorema and the Uruguayan FD. The results were that they were victors in the semifinals over the trio made up of Cehzar, Jafet and Samples, and in the final they came out as champions after their defeat over Aczino , Drose and Dominic.

After this competition, Klan was in the BDM Deluxe 2016, which took place in Chile and in which he participated together with MKS , defeating artists such as  Teorema , Nekroos, Yartzi, Hander, JNO, and later being defeated by  Teorema . . However, due to his outstanding performance, the Klan was recognized that year as: “the king of the squares.”

Already with his artistic career recognized internationally by all the events of 2016, in 2017, he participated again in various underground competitions, and in fact he moved to our country to be a contestant in the Battalas del Palacio, where Klan  was being the winner of Baser in the round of 16, and of Tetriko in the quarterfinals, while in the semifinals he defeated More, and in the final he was crowned champion after being the winner of Lancer Lirical.

We are also aware of his participation in Pangea 2017, where together with the artists Aczino ,  Teorema , Zasko, Blon, Kaiser and Yartzi he made the classic known as Seven to Punch. While for the year 2018 Klan  was in different underground competitions in Peru, and again in the most recognized in Argentina that saw him boost himself in the world of fame.
