Who are  ENHYPEN?

Enhypen is a South Korean boy band exponent of the K-pop genre formed through the I-Land program from which the seven members came out; Jungwon, Heeseung, Jay, Jake, Sunghoon, Sunoo and Ni-ki achieving great musical successes such as Drunk-Dazed, Fever, Given-Taken, among others. Enhypen debuted on November 30, 2020 and from the beginning they were considered one of the best kpop bands in the world.

Beginnings of ENHYPEN

Enhypen is a Korean music group whose name means “connect, discover, and progress.” They are made up of 7 boys, of which 4 are Korean, 1 is Australian, 1 American and 1 Japanese. They made their debut very recently, on the date of November 30 of last year 2020. In this regard, we must mention that towards the end of 2019 CJ E&M and Big Hit Entertainment joined forces to launch an international audition with the aim of creating a new musical group, the event in which these auditions took place was known by the name of “Belif Global Audition”.

In the call they specified that they were looking for young talents who had been born between 1997 and 2008. In this way, on July 20, 2020, the reality show known as I- LAND, where the entire selection process of the members of the new group of the musical genre known as K-pop and which would be called Enhypen was followed in detail . Subsequently, on September 18, 2020, the result was announced that the winners had been: Hee Sung, Jay, Jake, Sung Hoon, Sunoo, Jung Won Y Ni-Ki.

Enhypen’s debut came with the album Border: day one , which was accompanied by the music video for the song “Given-Taken”, where we could see them appear in a combination of times where we see them go from the present to a house of another time on a vampire theme. We must point out that this video was a success that propelled them to fame. And it was with this same video with which they promote themselves as their debut in different musical shows.

What we know about this famous video is that it begins with one of the Enhypen members bleeding from the nose while looking at the camera, then images of the group members in a school and in a house from a different time are combined; We have to point out that the public really liked the main theme of the video and the different outfits that they wore during the video, ranging from old suits with characteristic berets, school uniforms, black suits that matched perfectly with ruffled shirts and also current youth clothing

While the lyrics of Enhypen  ‘s song recounted everything they feel when they become vampires, making an invitation to leave or take power once their eyes turn red as an announcement and evidence of their transformation. In the same way, the letter expresses that some of the young people are not satisfied with the life they lead and it could even seem to us that they suffer from some mental disorder; so that even one of them disintegrates when he goes in the middle of the road in broad daylight.

We cannot ignore the fact that the musical group Enhypen was praised both for their creativity in composing the lyrics of the song and for their good taste in the choice of different outfits, and in the same way they were highly recognized for showing steps dance floors with a scenery of the night sky surrounded by bats.

As for the members of Enhypen , we can say that Hee Sung, whose full name is Lee Hee Sung, was born on October 15, 2001 in Namyangju, Gyeonggi-do, South Korea; while Jay, another of its members, whose full name is Park Jong Seong was born on April 20, 2002 in Seattle, Washington, United States, however, at the early age of 9 he moved with his family to Korea del Sur, his role in the group is that of vocalist, rapper and dancer.

On the other hand, Jake Shim, better known in the group only as Jake, was born on November 15, 2022, and works within the group as a singer, rapper, and dancer. Another member is Park Sung Hoon, who is better known only as Sung Hoon, who came into the world on the date of December 8, 2002, and is also a singer, rapper, and dancer within the musical group. We can’t forget about Kim Sun Woo, whose stage name is Sunoo, who was born on the date of June 24, 2003 in Suwon, Gyenggi-do, South Korea, without a doubt the group Enhypen  was full of many talents.

While Yang Jung Won, who in the group calls himself Jung Won, was born on February 9, 2004 in Geanakgu, South Korea. And Ni-Ki, whose real-life name is Nishimura Riki, born December 9, 2005 in Okayama, Japan; It is our knowledge that in her childhood years she was part of a dance cover group called SHINee, in which she played Key.

Trajectory and history of ENHYPEN

For the month of December 2020, Enhypen released the music video called “Let me in (20 CUBE)” , another great success that within a few hours of being published accumulated more than 2 million views on YouTube and a number over 700 thousand likes. It should be noted that in the video and in the song the lyrics stand out in a particular way due to the level of depth they have and the message they give, which consists of the way in which they want to “enter a new place to be loved and they yearn to enter a new world full of wonder. Since we all have our own social circle, our own world, here they want to enter it.”

At the beginning of 2021, the announcement was made that they will release their second mini album, which they will call Border Carnival. While on May 10 the band Enhypen  announced that with Border: Carnival they would make their debut in Japan. We must also mention the news that on March 31 BELIFT LAB Incorporations made the announcement that the musical group Enhypen is going to have their first comeback.

Subsequently, on April 4, Enhypen  released the news of BODER: CARNIVAL Intro: The Invitation, where we were informed of its next release, which will have three versions: hype, down and up.

The next day, on April 5, the promotional schedule was released, which revealed the dates of the concept books to the public, also showing a preview of the songs and their teasers. While on April 6, the teasers and individual and group concept photos of the hype version were revealed. On April 7, the mini album went on pre-sale, while on April 9, individual and group concept photos and videos of the down version of the group  Enhypen were revealed.

Later, on April 12, the conceptual photos and videos of the up version were revealed. After this, the album was finally released on April 26, but not everything would be good because the song “Drunk-dazed” was later censored for broadcast on television, because the video contained scenes that touched on addiction themes. to drugs and alcohol, however, the song did become known on different channels and was a success for  Enhypen.

For the date of May 10, 2021, the official Enhypen Japan twitter account revealed a video of Jake and Niki speaking in the Japanese language and giving the message that they would soon make their debut in Japan on July 6, then they released the mini album called Border: Hakanai.
