María Victoria Eugenia Guadalupe Martínez del Río Moreno-Ruffo, better known only as Victoria Ruffo, is a famous soap opera actress who has participated in melodramas such as “Corazón Guerrero, Cita a ciegas, Las amazonas, La Malquerida, Corona de lágrimas”, among others. Actress Victoria Ruffo was born on May 31, 1962 in Mexico City and is currently considered one of the best television actresses in the country.

María Victoria Eugenia Guadalupe Martínez del Río Moreno-Ruffo, better known only as Victoria Ruffo in the entertainment world, was born on May 31, 1962 in Mexico City. She has actress Gabriela Ruffo and producer Marcela Ruffo as sisters.

It is considered that her artistic career began in the 1970’s but towards the end of this decade, when in 1979 Victoria Ruffo  made her big screen debut in the films known as Disco is love, where she played the character of Jacqueline, and Ángel del silencio, in which she gave life to the character of Fabianne.

In 1980 Victoria Ruffo  appeared in theaters with the character named Guadalupe in the film Perro callejero . During this same year, she would appear in the soap opera known as Conflictos de un médico, giving life to the character of Rosario Reyes, and she would also be part of the cast of the soap opera Al rojo vivo with the character of Pilar Álvarez.

The following year, in 1981, Victoria Ruffo  was in the skin of Julia’s character in the soap opera known as Quiéreme siempre. In 1982 she made her appearance in the production entitled En busca del Paraíso with the character of Grisel. And it would also be this year when she would be on the big screen with the film The Man Without Fear, giving life to the character of Laura Aparicio; and she would also be in De pulquero a millonario as Rufina. Finally, this year she would also appear in the film called Una sota y un caballo playing the character of Mari Carmen Sierra.

During the following year, in 1983, we could see her in the soap opera known as La fiera, giving life to the role of Natalie Ramírez. We must point out that Victoria Ruffo  would appear in this production until 1984, the year in which she would win the TVyNovelas Awards with the category of “best young actress”, thanks to her participation in this same soap opera of La fiera.

In the year 1985 Victoria Ruffo  would be in the play titled This girl is a beast and would have the role of the leading character in the soap opera known by the name of Juana Iris. Later, in 1986, she would once again show her acting skills on the big screen by giving life to the character of Susana in the film called A violent man. While in 1987 she appeared in the film known as Yo el executor, playing the character of Gloria. And during this same year she would be in Victoria’s telenovela, giving life to the main character of Victoria Martínez. We cannot ignore the fact that this interpretation would lead her to be nominated at the TVyNovelas Awards in the category of “best leading actress” .

In 1989 and until 1990 Victoria Ruffo  would be part of the telenovela entitled Simply María , with the leading character María López, what we know about this telenovela is that it is an adaptation of the successful Argentine telenovela known by the same name, but which was broadcast in the year 1967, and which later had a Peruvian adaptation that resulted in great fame and recognition, which inspired our country to seek to make a version of this plot. Thanks to her excellent performance in this melodrama, Victoria Ruffo would be recognized as a nominee at the TVyNovelas Awards in the category of “best leading actress.” Later in 1992 she would appear in the play called Ninette and a man from Murcia.

It would be in the year 1993 when Victoria Ruffo  would make her presentation in the comedy program known by the name of Al derecho y al derbez , and would also participate in the soap opera known under the title of Capricho, giving life to the character who has the leading role. and responds to the name of Cristina Aranda Montaño, two years later  Victoria Ruffo  would be giving life to the character of Consuelo Villagrán García-Mora in the soap opera Poor rich girl, production of which we know is an adaptation of the original version, broadcast on the year of 1975 and known under the title of Poor Clara.

Two years later, in 1997, Victoria Ruffo would  participate in the television program Mujer, casos de la vida real, in the chapter called “Where is my daughter?” And the following year, in 1998, she would have the role of the leading character known by the name of Elena Carbajal in the telenovela titled Vivo por Elena; which we know is an adaptation of the original whose title is Miss Elena. We must point out that her performance in this telenovela resulted in her name appearing as a nominee in the TVyNovelas Awards in the category of “best leading actress”.

For the year 2000 we know that Victoria Ruffo  was part of the cast in the telenovela Abrázame muy fuerte, where she played the character of Cristina Álvarez Rivas de Rivero and shared credits with Aracely Arámbula , Pablo Montero , René Casados , among others. A short time later, in 2001, she would appear again on the television program Mujer casos de la vida real, more specifically in the episode that bears the title Between life and death where she gave life to the character called Carmelita. And it would be in the period from 2002 to 2004 when she would appear in several sketches of the television program XHDRBZ together with  Eugenio Derbez . 

Later, in 2005 Victoria Ruffo  would be María Fernández Acuña de San Román in the telenovela production known as La madrastra together with Guillermo García Cantú , which we know is an adaptation of the original version produced in Chile. While the following year, in 2006, her name would be appearing in the TVyNovelas Awards with the category of “best leading actress” thanks to her participation and excellent interpretation of her in this same soap opera. During the same year she would also appear, but this time as a winner at the Bravo Awards, with the category of “best leading actress” also for her character in La madrastra. And we cannot ignore the fact that she was also in 2006 when she made her appearance in the theater with the play El huevo de Pascua.

It would be the following year, in 2007, when Victoria Ruffo  would again have the role of a leading character in the soap opera known as Victoria, giving life to Victoria Santiesteban de Mendoza. We have to say that this production would be transmitted from the years 2007-2008.

And already in the middle of 2008 and until 2009  Victoria Ruffo would be in the skin of the character of Macarena Espinoza de los Monteros in the soap opera known as En nombre del amor, which we know was adapted from another soap opera named Cadenas de bitterness. It would also be during the year 2009 when we would see her on the television program La rosa de Guadalupe as Carolina Hernández in the episode entitled “Love without borders”.

The following year, in 2010, we could see her as Victoria Gutiérrez de Sandoval in the telenovela Triunfo del amor; same of which we know that it is the second Mexican adaptation of the original telenovela titled Cristal, of Venezuelan production. Her performance in Triunfo del amor would result in her being nominated for the People en Español Awards in the category of “Best Supporting Actress”.  Maité Perroni ,  Daniela Romo , Livia Brito , Erika Buenfil also participated in this melodrama , among others. 

In the period from 2012 to 2013, Victoria Ruffo  gave life to the character of Refugio Chavero Hernández in the soap opera Corona de lágrimas, a new version of the original of the same name broadcast back in 1965. It would be in 2013 when would be the winner at the TVyNovelas Awards with the category of “best leading actress” thanks to her performance in Corona de lágrimas. While at the Bravos Awards she would be the winner in the “best leading actress” category for the same telenovela, she would later appear in La malquerida, Las amazonas and Cita a ciegas , where she would give life to the character of Maura Fuentes de Salazar. This interpretation of her would make her win the TV Adicto Golden Awars 2019 with the category of “best leading actress”.

In mid-2021, Victoria Ruffo and César Évora were announced to star in ‘Corazón Guerrero’ , the new soap opera by acclaimed producer Salvador Mejía. “In the story there will be three leading men and three leading women. Victoria Ruffo is going to be the mature one, because she is going to be the mother of one of the protagonists, and she is a humble woman who sells flowers ”.
