Raúl Alejandro Ocasio Ruiz , better known in the world of music as Rauw Alejandro, is a singer-songwriter , one of the great exponents of the R&B genre fused with urban music , achieving hits such as ” Desperados, 2/catorce, Caprichoso, Cúrame, All of you, Something Magical, Hunter “, among others. The singer Rauw Alejandro  was born on January 10, 1993 in San Juan, Puerto Rico and in 2022 he began a relationship with the singer  Rosalía .

he played soccer since he was five years old while studying at the María Auxiliadora school and is the son of Raúl Ocasio, a great guitarist; and his mother named María Nelly Ruiz, a professional showgirl. In his childhood he came to participate in vocal talent contests and originally he always had the dream of being a great professional soccer player and reaching the big leagues, however his destiny would lead him to dedicate himself to another of his passions, music.

At the age of 24, he realized that sports, although it was something he was passionate about, were falling short in the face of the great competition and great performance that it demanded, so he looked towards his second option, music, and assured that he found in it something that the discipline of sports did not have: “music was the escape because things were not going the way I wanted (in sports). I saw it as therapy, and doors to other things opened up for me . ” And they opened wide, with the opportunity to start a professional career in which he composes 95% of his lyrics, he is surrounded by creative beings who studied with him and now work as dancers, in production and other areas of his projects.

Rauw studied Finance and when he found his true calling in music, he decided to put all his effort into being the best. “I have learned that within the music industry one can be successful in different ways, not just singing. I can be a composer or a producer… I also like graphic arts, I also draw” , he recounted, who is the product of a singing mother and his father is a musician.

In the beginning he managed a very unique stage name but in 2014 he was reborn as Rauw Alejandro , he founded his own production company and began uploading songs like No Me Hagas Esperar to SoundCloud , years later he merged with SONY Music to give him a greater boost to his artistic career, which worked because he began to collaborate with great singers of the urban, trap and reggaeton genre.

At present there are many artists who sing musical themes in which they refer to women in a rather derogatory way or in the worst case, treating them as if they were simple objects of pleasure, however, Rauw Alejandro has assured that he sings to make women fall in love, but I would never do it in a way that disrespects them: “My music is aimed at girls. The woman with all due respect serves as an inspiration to me. My target is a lot of romantic songs, party songs and the everyday things that happen to us in life”.On January 25, 2019, Rauw Alejandro and Nicky Jam joined their voices in the single Que le Dé , a “perfect fusion” between reggaeton and R&B, which was produced by NaisGai and has a music video recorded in Miami, under the Directed by the Mexican Fernando Lugo, who has already worked with J Balvin, Farruko and Bad Bunny . I feel very honored to be able to share with my compatriot Nicky Jam on this topic. It is the perfect moment to merge reggaeton and the urban genre with R&B, the public is reacting positively, and I am enjoying every part of the process,” Rauw Alejandro said in the statement.

On March 15 of the same year, Chencho Corleone  from the former group Plan B , premiered a song together with Rauw Alejandro called ‘El efecto’, which achieved more than 50 million views in less than 2 months.

On May 31, 2019, he released his first album that he decided to call “Trap Cake” but that he divided into two volumes; follow the path of Rauw Alejandro after the “Punto De Equilibrio” mixtape. Trap Cake volume 1 included the song Cubierto de Ti in collaboration with Lary Over, which became a bestseller and 7 other songs featuring musical fusions with Jon Z, Olive Irie Kingz and  Cazzu . The singer also assured that in 2020 he would release version 2 of Trap Cake.
