Beginnings in the life of Neto Bernal

Ernesto Bernal Contreras, better known as Neto Bernal in the world of musical entertainment, was born on the date of October 1, 1997 in Mexicali, Baja California, Mexico. It is our knowledge that his mother is also originally from Mexicali, while his father comes from Sonora, in addition to the fact that he has a younger brother named Alexis.

Being very young, his interest in music awoke in him, so that at the age of five Neto Berna  began to participate in various contests, always with unconditional support from his family, and emerging victorious in some of them.

In a recent interview, the now famous singer Neto Bernal recalled how from a very young age he was always very close to the regional Mexican genre, so he knew that when he grew up he wanted to dedicate himself to that style and musical genre; “I was a child when I already listened to mariachi music, those classic norteños, my parents always played that music and of course it had to stay with me. Los Tiranos del Norte are the group that I bring as a base at the beginning of my career, little by little I have been discovering that I was born for this and it is a dream that I do not intend to let go of”.

Later, at the age of 12, Neto Berna  did the casting to participate in the television music contest known by the name of Pequeños Gigantes, hosted by Galilea Montijo , where he sang different songs by singer Pedro Fernández . After competing in Pequeños Gigantes and making himself known in Mexico City, Ernesto “Neto” Bernal returned to his hometown of Mexicali, where he continued to appear in different events until when he was about 17 years old, he noticed in his natural talent the manager Gabriel Alcocer, from the United States, who found him thanks to social networks.

It is at this moment when it is considered that Neto Bernal formally began his artistic career . Shortly after, he contacted him and Neto Bernal sent him some musical samples, with which he managed to attract the manager even more, who saw a promising musical future in him.

It didn’t take long and in July 2015, Gabriel Alcocer asked Neto Bernal to take a trip to Tamaulipas so they could meet in person and better appreciate his music. Neto Bernal did so, in such a way that he produced together with Alcocer some pieces that they promoted through social networks, which turned out to be very well accepted by the public.

It was after his interpretation of the piece known as “Paloma Negra”, original by the artist Michael Merlino, that the manager Gabriel Alcocer made the decision to name Ernesto artistically as Neto Bernal, in addition to the fact that they agreed to promote his artistic career as a music project on social networks.

This is how in the first half of 2016, the singer Neto Bernal launched his first album, which he gave the title From Mexicali to Reynosa, in which the regional Mexican genre stands out in a particular way, and whose most successful songs were those entitled “Silly Books” as well as “Your heart is a virgin”.

A short time later, in 2018, Neto Bernal  released the songs “Who believes your memory?”, “If you want” and “The great love of my life”, which were included in the album called Con a smile. We cannot ignore the fact that the song “Who believes your memory?” was on the Billboard Regional Mexican Top 40 Tracks list.

The following year, in 2019, Neto Bernal received the invitation to belong to the Mexillennials project, run by Fonovisa Records, which had the objective of uniting young artists incorporated into the regional Mexican genre. It was with his participation in this project that Neto Bernal earned the respect of the public together with the admiration for the power of his voice. In this regard, there was speculation about whether he used some computer program to make his voice sound so good, to which he replied: “I don’t use Auto-Tune”, thus making it clear that his voice is natural, in addition that in the recordings he does not use any special effects.

The following year, in 2020, Neto Bernal  presented the successful song “When I want you have to go back”, and prepared some presentations for a tour of the United States, but the Covid-19 pandemic prevented the fulfillment of these plans but decided them postpone and better plan for when everything returned to normal.

After several years of fighting for a place within the music industry, Neto Bernal was nominated for the 2021 Premios Juventud in the “New Male Generation” category, in which he competed with other great music stars like him at that time. were taking off in their musical careers like Alex Rose ,  Fran Rozzano , Guaynaa ,  Jay Wheeler ,  Llane ,  Mora , Khea  and Mati Gómez. About his nomination the singer commented; “I would like to say so much, but, I refer to gratitude. Thank you for considering me in this highly competitive category, as a good beginner, I already feel like a winner.” It was curious that he was nominated for this category of “New Artist” when he had already been in music for several years and was practically not a new artist.

But that would not be the only nomination that Neto Bernal would receive, since he also managed to be among the most important Premios Juventud as “Artist of the Year (Mexican Regional)”, “Song of the Year (Mexican Regional)”, “Collaboration of the Year”, and “Mariacho/Ranchera Song of the Year” which he achieved thanks to the tremendous success achieved with the song “Si quieres” that he performed with Carolina Ross .
