Mauricio Pimentel Maqueda , better known only as Mauricio Pimentel, is a famous Mexican theater, film and television actor who throughout his artistic career has excelled in important projects such as El dragón, Yankee, La piloto, El señor de los cielos, La Doña and if they let us Mauricio Pimentel was born on January 1, 1976 in Puruándiro Michoacán and currently also works as an acting teacher, acting coach and director.

Beginnings in the life of Mauricio Pimentel

Mauricio Pimentel was born on January 21, 1976 in the state of Michoacán, Mexico. It is our knowledge that since he was a child he showed interest in the world of art, and already in the 1990s he began to formally study acting, specializing in theater, of which he would become a famous director.

The now famous actor Mauricio Pimentel commented that he knew he wanted to be an actor when he saw a play at the house of culture in his municipality and was impressed with what he was seeing and although he did not know that it was theater, he knew immediately that he also wanted to Dedicate yourself to doing what you saw.

“I saw a play when I was very young and suddenly I was impressed by what I was seeing, I didn’t know what it was, I didn’t know it was called theater, I had no history of anything and I decided that I wanted to do like the gentlemen who were acting up on stage and from there came my journey that I never let go of my goal or my desire ,” actor  Mauricio Pimentel said in a recent YouTube interview.

It was back in 2003, when Mauricio Pimentel became part of the Michoacán Drama Center (CEDRAM), which we know was a project linked to La casa de Teatro, in Pátzcuaro, Michoacán, where he was director. artist of the “Rocinante Theater”. The following year, in 2004, he became a member of the faculty as head of the acting area, also at La Casa del Teatro, later he was invited to collaborate in different art schools throughout the Mexican Republic.

It would not be until 2011 when we would see him on the small screen with the soap opera that was known under the title of Tres Milagros , in which we learned the story of three women born on the same day and who were named Milagros, whose lives come together in the path of crime.

In 2012 Mauricio Pimentel  received an invitation from the Bogotá Superior Academy of Arts (ASAB) where he was in charge of directing a grade show. While along with this academic training in the field of acting, he has stood out for his participation in different television and theater projects. This is how we know that he has collaborated with famous directors such as: José Caballero, Luis de Tavira, David Olguin, David Hevia, Sandra Félix, Mauricio Jiménez, Alicia Martínez, and José Ramón Enríquez to name just a few. With whom he has also stood out as a costume and stage space designer.

The following year, in 2013, Mauricio Pimentel was a trainer or “acting coach” of the cast of the television series that was known under the title of La patrona , whose plot tells us the story of Gabriela, a woman who is the only one of her sex that works in the gold mine that is the economic base of the town of San Pedro del Oro. 

Shortly after, in 2014, he was part of the cast of the Canal Once television series known as Crónica de castas , where we are told the story of Yolanda, a Spanish woman residing in Mexico, who hides a past, while his son has the firm objective of discovering the identity of his father, whom he believed to be dead all his life; In this year Mauricio Pimentel  would make his appearance as an actor in the television series called Mr. Ávila.

A short time later, in 2016  Mauricio Pimentel served as coach of the cast of the television series that was known as La Doña , whose plot revolves around the life of a woman named Altagracia, who is nicknamed “La Doña”, whose story is full of ambitious desires, revenge and seduction.

We must not forget that it was also this year when Mauricio Pimentel  participated as a member of the cast of the original HBO Latin America series known by the name of Dios INC, whose plot revolves around Salvador Pereyra, a man who discovers the tomb of Marduk. , who is the creator of the concept of God, and from this the political, religious, social and economic cases of the world are shaken, for which he is persecuted.

The following year, in 2017, Mauricio Pimentel was part of the cast of the television series La querida del Centauro 2. In the same way we could see him in the fifth season of the successful series El señor de los cielos. While the following year, in 2018, he participated as part of the cast of the Netflix series known as La casa de las flores, then he was in La piloto and in the movie Antes del Olvido, where he worked under the direction of Iría Gomez.

At the end of 2019, El Dragón: The Return of a Warrior or also known simply El Dragón , a crime drama telenovela produced by W Studios in collaboration with Lemon Studios for Televisa and Netflix in 2019, was released, although it was later broadcast in Mexico in mid-2019. of 2020.

The dragon was starred by Sebastián Rulli  and Renata Notni , along with Roberto Mateos and Irina Baeva in the antagonistic roles and told us the story of a young man who lived his entire early life in Japan and although his entire family was always involved in drug trafficking he he always stayed away from that until he finally got to take over the business, however he wants to do things differently and wants to change the course of his life and his empire. In the El dragón series, actor Mauricio Pimentel played Peligros.

In the same way, we are aware that in the past year 2020 he appeared in the film titled as Uzzi, in which he was under the orders of director José Luis Valle.

While Mauricio Pimentel has served as director in the theater  , some of his projects have been: A Midsummer Night’s Dream, by William Shakespeare, El amor de Fedra, authored by Sarah Kane, Eva Perón, authored by by Copi, El País de Otoño by Ray Bradbury, Fuenteovejuna by the famous Lope de Vega, Yerma and Bodas de Sangre by Federico García Lorca, The Voyage of the Singers, by Hugo Salcedo, El Yeitotol by the by Verónica Maldonado, Salir al mundo by Berta Hiriart, Lágrimas de Agua Dulce by Jaime Chabaud, and Martina and the Birdmen by Mónica Hoth, to name just a few.

In mid-2021,  Si nos dejan is a Mexican telenovela produced by W Studios together with Lemon Studios for Televisa in 2021, being a new version of the novel created by TV Azteca in 1997 and titled “Mirada de mujer” . The telenovela “Si nos dejan” starred Mayrín Villanueva , Marcus Ornellas and Alexis Ayala , along with Scarlet Gruberas the main antagonist and told the story of a woman entering her old age who realizes that she is not as happy as she thought despite having money and an apparently happy family, as if that were not enough, she meets a man younger than her with whom he begins a relationship that will unleash a great confrontation with his entire family. In the novel ” If they leave us “ the actor Mauricio Pimentel played Alberto Mujica.

Regarding his participation in “Si nos dejan” the actor Mauricio Pimentel  commented on the possible comparisons that would be made with the original version; “I understand that it is a remake and I don’t think about overcoming anything, it was a different time back then, today the direction is very different, the photography and more than overcoming we have to do our best and get the project out.”

In the telenovela ” If they leave us ” Mauricio Pimentel  also shared credits with other great stars and acting figures such as; Susana Dosamantes , Gaby Spanic , Isabel Burr , Carlos Said , Isidora Vives , Álex Perea , Lore Graniewicz , Orlando Santana , Mónica Dionne , Gabriela Carrillo , Ramiro Tomasini , Ara Saldivar, among others; and although it achieved good audience levels, they were not compared to the phenomenon that was “Mirada de Mujer” which even had a sequel, although without much success.
