Manuel Ibáñez Martínez, nicknamed “El Flaco” in show business , came into the world on October 17, 1946 in Acatlán de Pérez Figueroa, Oaxaca, Mexico. He is to our knowledge that he is the youngest and only son of 4 sisters. His mother was a housewife and his father worked as a day laborer, although we must point out that he never got to know him, since his parents made the decision to separate shortly after he was born. This is how Manuel had a hard childhood, having to help his mother and his sisters financially. Although not for this reason Manuel lacked a father figure during childhood, as it is our knowledge that his uncle Domingo, his mother’s brother-in-law, was the one who dedicated himself to raising him as a father.

After the death of his mother in 1968, Manuel “El Flaco” Ibáñez  had a depression that combined with an economic crisis, reasons that led him to make the decision to start working as a photojournalist in a news agency. that had been created by some friends, who sent him to cover the events of the student movement in Mexico City, it was then that he discovered that his vocation was the world of television and entertainment.
