Beginnings in the life of Ginés García Millán

Ginés García Millán was born in Puerto Lumbreras, Murcia, Spain, on September 10, 1964. His childhood was spent in the Hotel Salas, the same one where his parents were directors. Before formally venturing into the entertainment world of acting, we are aware that he stood out in the sport of soccer as goalkeeper, first in the youth categories of Murcia, and then in the teams known as ” Valladolid Juvenil” and “Promesas”. He then decided to leave his soccer career and move to Madrid to enter the School of Dramatic Art in Madrid, where he would devote himself entirely to his acting vocation.

Ginés García Millán  stood out as a student at the School of Dramatic Art, to such an extent that one of his teachers, named Miguel Narros, gave him the opportunity to make his debut in the Spanish Theater, with what is considered to be the formal beginning of to his artistic career. This is how he acted in the play known as Así que pasen cinco años, which was presented at the Teatro Español under the direction of Miguel Narros.

Later, in 1998, he would appear in the Insomnia films, working under the orders of director Chus Gutiérrez, and in Mensaka, pages of a story directed by Salvador García Ruiz; and we cannot leave aside that it would be in 1998 when he would begin to participate in the television series Periodistas with the character of Álvaro Torres. And in the same way, Ginés García Millán  appeared in the theater with the works of Hamlet! (directed by Ignacio García May), Chantecler (directed by Edmond Rostand) and La Fundación, authored by Antonio Buero Vallejo and presented under the direction of Juan Carlos Pérez de la Fuente.

A year later,  Ginés García Millán was in the films: The Year of the Deluge by director Jaime Chávarri, School of Seduction directed by Javier Balaguer, and we cannot forget the film Iris, directed by Rosa Vergés. He would appear again in another presentation of Shakespeare’s classic Hamlet, acting under the direction of Eduardo Vasco. While on television he would appear in Siete vidas as Alberto.

The following year, in 2005, we could see him act in the films 100 ways to end love directed by Vicente Pérez Herrero, Love in self-defense directed by Rafa Russo, Queens under the command of Manuel Gómez Pereira, Steps by director Federico Luppi; and in the play Coriolano directed by Helena Pimenta. In the year 2006 Ginés García Millán would be in the television series Out of control and Married with children. While in 2007 she would participate in the television series known as Herederos; and in Antón Reixa’s film called Hotel Tívoli, in the play titled Mujeres soñaron caballos by Daniel Veronese; and he would be a winner at the Union of Actors Awards with the category of “best secondary actor on television” thanks to his work on the television series Herederos.

During 2008, in addition to continuing in Herederos with the role of Bernardo Sánchez, he was awarded the Villa de Madrid Award for Dramatic Interpretation for theater actors, named “Ricardo Calvo”, thanks to his participation in the play Mujeres soñaron caballos y in recognition of his artistic career. In 2009 he appeared at the Teatro Español with the play Glengarry Glen Ross directed by Daniel Veronese. And on the small screen we were able to enjoy his performance in La Señora where he gave life to the character of Alonso de Castro.

In 2010 Ginés García Millán  appeared in the film The Unmaking of (or how it was not done) under the orders of Chumilla Carbajosa; and on the small screen we were able to enjoy his performance in Adolfo Suárez, el presidente, where he played the leading role of Adolfo Suárez, and in Amar en tiempos revueltos: Alta Traición with the character of Patrick Turner. The following year, in 2011 he would be in Tres días de abril as Alfonso XIII, and also in the historical series Isabel, giving life to the character of the Marqués de Villena, named Juan Pacheco. We cannot ignore the fact that he also appeared in the film by director Chema de la Peña known as 23-F: the movie.

In 2012 he returned to the theater under the direction of Daniel Veronese with the play Los hijos no se dormido. It was during this same year that Ginés García Millán  was nominated at the Actors Union Awards in the category of “best lead actor on television” thanks to his participation in Isabel.
