Ernesto Laguardia, renowned Mexican actor, was born on October 5, 1959 in Mexico City. According to some media, his introduction to show business occurred early in his life because, since he was a child, he participated as a child model on catwalks and in advertising commercials, even obtaining contracts of this type for a period of almost twenty years. All these initial jobs very possibly generated an early interest in acting, although this was not evident at that age, as he also excelled in other activities, such as rowing.

Years later, Ernesto Laguardia decided to study at the Instituto Autónomo Metropolitano (ITAM), where he obtained a Bachelor’s degree in business administration . Despite this, his first jobs once he graduated were focused on the media. Shortly after obtaining his degree, Laguardia looked for and found work in the radio, more specifically, in XEW, before moving on to other stations.

If there is a telenovela that can be identified as Ernesto Laguardia’s rise to fame, it is Quinceañera , where he landed his first leading role alongside the now-defunct Adela Noriega .. This telenovela, produced between 1987 and 1988, narrates the loving vicissitudes of a group of young people for staying together despite opposition from their families and those around them. With her, Ernesto managed to forge a space within the telenovela industry, from which he participated in many more projects, several of them as the protagonist. Before the end of the millennium, he participated in projects such as Flor y Canela (1988-1989), Ashes and Diamonds (1990-1991), La sonrisa del diablo (1992), Lazos de amor (1995-1996), My dear Isabel ( 1996-1997), Gotita de amor (1998) and Cuento de Navidad (1999-2000), among many others.

In addition to artistic projects,  Ernesto Laguarda carried out other equally important personal projects. For a time, he lived for a time in New York, where he studied directing and production at New York University, complementing his acting knowledge. Likewise, in 1997 he founded his own production company, Foro 3 SC and Producciones Ernesto Laguardia, from where he represents artists and is in charge of organizing theater and television plays. It was also through this means that he edited and distributed the book entitled La Reina de los Gnomes, by Enrique Laguardia Campana.
