Who is Erik Rubin?

Erik Rubín Milanszenko, better known only as  Erik Rubín, is a famous Mexican pop rock singer who became famous for having been part of the successful group Timbiriche and later making a career as a soloist, although without much significance. The singer Erik Rubín was born on January 30, 1971 in Puebla de Zaragoza and is currently the father of two daughters  Mía Rubín and Nina Rubín  that he had with his wife  Andrea Legarreta from him .

Beginnings in the life of Erik Rubín

Erik Rubín Milanszenko, was born on the date of January 30, 1971 in Puebla, Mexico; His parents are Mayra Milanszenko and José Ángel Rubín. It is considered that the beginnings of his artistic career took place back in 1983, when he became part of the musical group known as Timbiriche, sharing the stage with other great stars such as  Eduardo Capetillo ,  Edith Márquez ,  Biby Gaytan , among others. 

A little later, Erik Rubín ventured into acting in 1989 with his participation in the soap opera known as Morir para vivir, where he was in charge of the interpretation of the character Armando. We cannot forget that already in 1984 he had tried his luck as an actor but in the field of theater with the famous play Vaselina con Timbiriche, where he gave life to the character of Eugenio.

In 1991 Erik Rubín  was part of the cast of the telenovela known as Reaching for a Star II with the character of Miguel Ángel Castella. While between the years of 1995 and 1996 we saw him make his appearance in Lazos de amor as Carlos León.

One of the first great successes as a soloist for Erik Rubín came with the album “La casa del amor” whose most successful single was “When you die for someone” . We must point out that this album won the gold record distinction thanks to its high number of sales that exceeded 150,000 copies. Later, in 1995, he released the album Sueño de fantasía. While for 1997 he released the album known by the name of Paranormal Frequency.

In 1998, Erick Rubín was at the reunion of the musical group Timbiriche, with whom he went on a concert tour through different states of the Mexican Republic. We know that Rubín was the composer of two songs that they presented that year, and participated in various musical arrangements. We cannot ignore the fact that his name and that of all his Timbiriche companions were making a lot of noise in the entertainment press at that time, because they broke a record of presentations at the National Auditorium in Mexico City, after giving 22 concerts in a row. . They appeared in the same way when they appeared at the well-known Foro Sol.

Such successes earned the group a platinum record for the high sales of the musical album El concierto, whose composition and co-production was commissioned by Erick Rubín himself ; For his part, in the year 2000, he released the album Quadrasónico .

Erik Rubín  was once again as a theater actor and resumed his acting career a bit, this time in the play called Rent where he gave life to the character of Roger Davis. Later, in 2001, he acted in the musical Jesus Christ Superstar as Judas. Soon after, in 2004, he was part of the cast of the play El Full Monty.

After several years in 2007, another Timbiriche reunion was given again, coinciding with the 25th anniversary of the formation of the musical group, so on that occasion it was a little more special, but a new project was being cooked in which  Erik Rubín would join two other former Timbiriche teammates to create the concept “Sasha, Benny Ibarra and Erick”.

In June 2012, the news was released that Sasha, Benny Ibarra and Erick Rubín were invited by the record company Sony Music Group with the aim of producing a musical album called Primera Fila: Sasha, Benny, Erik . On the date of June 29 of that year, the album was recorded at a private concert attended by 600 followers of the three singers. We are aware that this project began a tour with the date of October 20, 2012. The merger of their three talents managed to consolidate great success, which is why they continued together, releasing more albums that were known under the titles of : Live from the National Auditorium, Vuelta al sol and Among friends. It was in 2015 when the singers announced their end as a trio.

It is in this way that Erik Rubín resumed his career as a soloist , in 2004, he released the album Erik, whose most successful song was called “Ya nada es igual” . Later, in 2009, his album known under the title of Here and Now came out, which had as its most successful single “It does not stop raining”, which reached the top positions of the radio music charts. The second most successful single was “Fly with me” and the third “Your voice.” 

Years later, Erik Rubín was a participant in the tour known as the 90’s Pop Tour along with artists such as  JNS , OV7,  Litzy , Alex Syntek,  Fey , Irán Castillo , Caló, Pablo Ruiz and The Sacados, but after a few concerts Erik Rubín left the 90’s Pop Tour to join Timbiriche’s tour called Tour Juntos.

The following year, in 2018, he turned out to be a winner at the Lunas del Auditorio Awards with the category of “best pop singer”, thanks to his participation with Timbiriche and then a year later he appeared again with the character of Judas in another presentation of the musical Jesus Christ Superstar. 

At the end of 2022, the second season of ¿Quién es la máscara? a television show where certain show personalities performed songs under some disguise to hide their true personality and appearance; in the second season Adrián Uribe  was the official host while the team of investigators was made up of Yuri , Mónica Huarte , Carlos Rivera and Juan Pa Zurita  who were in charge of investigating who was behind the masked characters.Lazy was the character that Erik Rubín used to hide his identity and after all the weeks of competition he was eliminated but at least he could be close to the final.

The singer Erik Rubín in 2000, more specifically on the date of April 1, married the actress Andrea Legarreta , from whose relationship his daughters Nina and Mia Rubín were born . However, it was not until recently that they decided to open up a little more with the entertainment press and tell their love story.

The love story between Erik Rubín and Andrea Legarreta began when they met in a nightclub in Acapulco, thanks to the fact that Rafael Villafañe told Andrea, referring to Erik Rubín: “How do you see that this dude says that you are going to be the mother of their children?” At that time they only exchanged their numbers, and after a few calls they made the decision to start dating. Their courtship lasted three months because five months after the relationship began, Erik Rubín proposed to Andrea Legarreta.

But they have not always been happy moments for the couple because in a recent interview it was Erik Rubín himself who confessed that at one point he did think of separating from Andrea Legarreta;  “If we have come to sit down and talk about whether we should continue or not, sometimes habit makes you forget your partner, you live with your family, you live as partners, as friends, you live together on a day-to-day basis, but sometimes you forget of the couple, then you have to look for how to resume.”

Despite everything, Erik and Andrea have overcome several stages, some of them very painful, and others have lived very happily, even though from time to time the entertainment press gossips about a possible separation. The couple now proudly watch as their daughters take their first steps in show business.
