TV Azteca announced the premiere of Exatlón in October 2017, a format and program that had been tremendously successful in several countries and for the first time would be taking place in Mexico with sports commentator Antonio Rosique as the host of the program.

The show began with two “famous and contending” teams who would face tough physical and mental tests in order to find the best athlete and who would take not only the Exatlón title but also two million pesos. Ana Lago was selected and invited for having an incredible history of triumphs and successes, but above all for representing Mexico in several international competitions, so she had everything to become one of the best and that’s how it was.

After an excellent competition and achieving surprising audience levels in March 2018, the grand final of Exatlón was held; previously Ernesto Cázares and Macky González, members of the blue team, met in the semifinals against Ana Lago and Daniel Corral but in the final confrontation Ana Lago could not beat her rival Macky González  but even so she was very happy to be crowned with second place within a close competition where 22 were the high performance athletes who were in the show trying to reach the final and it was Ana Lago who was able to beat them all to achieve her deserved second place in said competition.

At the end of 2020, the new season of Exatlón México was announced , again with Antonio Rosique as the host, however in this new season they would bring back the most outstanding participants of the first 3 seasons to make a kind of “rematch” in the that those who did not win would have a new opportunity to obtain the grand prize and those who had won such as Ernesto Cázares , Aristeo Cázares , Mati Alvarez and Heliud Pulido in the previous seasons decided to accept the invitation to return to reaffirm their victory.
