Who are  ATEEZ?

ATEEZ is a South Korean boy band exponents of the K-pop genre made up of eight members: Hongjoong, Seonghwa, Yunho, Yeosang, San, Mingi, Wooyoung and Jongho who have achieved great musical successes such as Take me home, One day at time, Answer, Wave, Wonderland, among others. The Kpop group ATEEZ debuted on October 24, 2018 with their mini album Treasure EP.1: All to Zero and since then they have become one of the most successful groups of the moment.

Beginnings of ATEEZ

Ateez is a musical group made up of boys from South Korea. The band was presented by KQ Entertainment, and is made up of eight members who respond to the names of: Hongjoong (who came into the world on the date of November 7, 1998), Seonghwa (born April 3, 1998), Yunho (born March 23, 1999), Yeosang (born June 15, 1999), San (born July 10, 1999), Mingi (born August 9, 1999), Jongho (born October 12, 2000) and Wooyoung (born November 26, 1999).

The history of this musical group called Ateez  begins in 2018, when they made their debut under the stage name of KG Fellaz, appearing in the series that KQ Entertainment launched on the YouTube platform under the name of KG Fellaz American Training, for which realization, the boys traveled to the city of Los Angeles, California, United States.

It was in the development of this series that the ninth member known by the name of Lee Young joined the group; So they all worked together on a song produced by band leader Hongjoong, while choreographed by Studios Movement Lifestyle and Millennium Dance Complex, the first big steps for  Ateez.

Trajectory and history of ATEEZ

Ateez’s musical history was about to achieve great success, but when everything was ready to start the career of the kpop group, the company KQ Entertainment announced that Lee Junyoung would not be part of the group. This is how on July 3 the eight permanent members of KQ Fellaz released the single “From”.

Given the success of the series, the company KQ Entertainment made the announcement of a reality show for the band on June 26 with the first three teasers. We know that the second teaser was released on July 3, when the official name of the Ateez group was already given . This is how this reality show was renamed Code Name is Ateez . So it was finally released through the Mnet channel on July 20.

Subsequently, on October 2, through the official SNS, the music group Ateez released a “teaser photo” that let the public know the date of their debut as Ateez : October 24 at Yes24 Livehall. This is how on that date they released the mini EP album called Treasure EP.1: All to Zero. Along with the album, the videos of the songs “Treasure” and “Pirate King” were released. This album managed to reach number 7 on the list called Gaon Albums Chart. While the next day, on October 25, they appeared with their first performance on M! Mnet Countdown.

The following year, in 2019, Ateez released the mini album Treasure EP.2: Zero to One on January 15, which was accompanied by a music video called “Say my name.” We cannot ignore the fact that on February 7 they released their song “Hala Hala (Hearts Awakened, Libe Alive)”. At the same time they were on their first tour called The Expedition Tour, going through the locations of: Brooklyn, Chicago, Dallas, Atlanta and Los Angeles. By February 20 they announced that they would be in London, Lisbon, Paris, Berlin, Amsterdam, Milan, Budaoest, Stockholm, Warsaw and Moscow.

Some time later, on May 9, they released the music video for the song “Promise”. While for May 17 they did a performance at KCON 2019 JAPAN.

By June 5, Ateez announced that they would tour Australia on a tour they would call The Expedition Tour in Australia, with its main locations being Melbourne, Margaret Court Arena, and Sydney. On June 10, they presented their third mini album known under the title of Treasure EP.3: One to All, whose official song “Wave” was found selected by fans’ votes as the best song. We cannot forget that the same day this album was released to the public, the videos for the songs “Wave” and “Ilusion” were released. For June 20, the boys of AteezThey were creditors to their first prize in the television program M! Countdown; and on June 25 they added their second prize to their artistic career, when they were placed in first place in The Show Choice Winner, The Show program.

Shortly after, on June 6, Ateez performed at KCON 2019 NY in New York City. While for July 8 they released the video for “Aurora”, a song that was composed by Hongjoong. Then, on August 16, Ateez participated in the KCON LA After Party in the North American city of Los Angeles, California. By August 20, they received the Best Performance Award at the Soribada Awards that year.

A little later, on September 18, the members of Ateez  released the Treasure EP album. End: All to Action. Later, they had a participation in the KCON Thailand dated September 29. On October 4 we could see them in a performance on Spotify on Stage.

We cannot forget that 2019 was a year full of events for the boys of Ateez , among whose most important participations we can highlight: the Seoul Music Festival (SMUF) (where they were on the date of October 6), the Busan One Asia Festival (October 20), Jindai Festa in Yokohama, Japan (November 2), and the Mnet Asian Music Awards (December 4). It was also towards the end of this year that they released the music video “Wonderland” and the song “Utopia” along with the albums: Treasure EP. End: All to Action and Treasure EP. BONUS: Shift the map.

Undoubtedly, Ateez’s musical career was unstoppable , which is why they continued their good run of successes by releasing the fourth EP known as Treasure Epilogue: Action to Answer, which was the crown of their musical series Treasure; the most famous song of this latest installment was called “Answer”.

Later they went on a tour of the United States and Europe called The Fellowship Tour, although the visit to some cities was canceled or postponed due to the health emergency caused by Covid-19. Later, on May 8, they were appointed promotional ambassadors by the Korean Cultural and Information Service (KOCIS), and as part of their artistic activities, the Ateez boys did a kind of campaign to promote hygiene habits that would help in the prevention of the spread of Covid-19. Shortly after, on May 20, they held a digital event dedicated to their followers, which was a virtual concert called “Crescent Party”, broadcast through the V Live platform.

The Ateez boys  released their fifth EP titled Zero: Fever Part 1, whose most successful songs were: “INCEPTION” and “THANXX”. We cannot ignore that they were also participants in the Immortal Songs and Immortal Songs: King of Kings programs. Besides that they were winners in third and fourth position in the reality shows The Show and Show Champion. In the same way, it is our knowledge that they were winners at the 2020 MAMA with the Discovery of the year and Worldwide Fans awards.

It is important to note that last year Mingi was diagnosed with anxiety, which is why he separated from the group temporarily, but in general the successes for  Ateez did not stop as more musical hits would arrive such as “It’s Raining” (remix version), “Fireworks (I´m the One)”, in addition to the sixth EP Zero: Fever Part 2.

How much is ATEEZ’s fortune?
